Japanese for Parents in Japan
About this course
This practical course is designed for parents raising children in Japan. You will learn useful Japanese for everyday parenting situations, such as talking with teachers, reading school notices, visiting hospitals, participating in school events, and communicating with other parents. Through role-plays and real-life situations, you will build the confidence to use Japanese in your daily life. Having lived in Malaysia for eight years while working and raising three children, I understand the challenges of living abroad and raising a family in a different culture. As a current Japanese language teacher in Japan, I combine my teaching experience with practical advice to support your life as a parent in Japan. If you want to communicate more confidently and enjoy raising your children in Japan, this course is for you.
What you'll be able to do after this course
By the end of this course, you will be able to communicate confidently in common parenting situations in Japan. You will learn how to talk with teachers, understand school notices, explain your child’s symptoms at the hospital, communicate with other parents, and use natural Japanese at home with your children. You will also gain a better understanding of Japanese school life, culture, and parenting practices, helping you feel more confident and comfortable raising your family in Japan.
